Social Program

In order to give an opportunity to our guests for an unforgettable holiday together with the best scientific event to be held in Tunisia, The organizing committee is working on a quite special, rich and interesting social program for the EMM-FM 2015 participants as well as for the accompanying persons.

1/Post Conference tour: September 13-14-15, 2015

A three-days post Conference tour (September 13-14-15, 2015) will be organized to the South of Tunisia. It will include the visit of El JEM (the Roman amphitheatre, the 3rd amphitheatre of the antique world), the visit of Matmata, where the main part of the housing environment is buried underground, dug in soft rocks what allowed to increase rooms at any time, Douz city: the gate of the desert and the capital of the nomads, with a small trip in the desert on camel, Tozeur by crossing the CHOTT EL JERID (the big Tunisian salt lake), the three mountain oasis: Tamerza, Chebika and Mides, ….

The approximate cost is about 250 Euros per person including transportation, full board in the hotel in Douz and Tozeur. The exact cost will be provided shortly.

2/Visit of the cities of El-Jem, Mahdia, and Kairouan

A one-day trip to the cities of El-Jem, Mahdia, and Kairouan; it includes a visit to the roman ruins in El-Jem, lunch, visit to Mahdia and visit to Kairouan, the first Moslem city in Africa.

The approximate cost is about 100 Euros per person including transportation. The exact cost will be provided shortly.

3/Visit of the City of Nabeul

Nabeul is a small city of just about 60,000 people and is a place that many visitors will find themselves during a visit to Tunisia. Nabeul is a nice town for a half day trip; it offers a nice place in which we can relax.

Nabeul is also the main administrative centre of the governorate of Nabeul and area that includes a large piece of the Cap Bon region and the Major tourist area of Hammamet, which is increasingly becoming more famous than Nabeul itself.

 

4/Visit of the Kerkuane and El Houaria

Kerkuane is believed to be the best preserved Punic town in Mediterranean area. We will walk trough the ruins and learn its history.

El-Houaria is known by the so called “Romain Caves”. These “Romain Caves” have been designated a national monument by the Tunisian government and date back to the 6th century BC. They are to be found west of El-Haouaria on the Cap Bon Tunisian Peninsula.

5/Sea trip on Sunday September 13, 2015

A half-Day Sea trip will take place on Sunday September 13, 2015 morning.

The organizing committee may add more activities and will give you additional details shortly. The participants and the accompanying persons will have shortly the possibility to make early registration for the social program.

6/Visit of Tunis, the main city of Tunisia: One day

A one-day trip to the old town of Tunis, it includes a visit to the world famous Bardo museum known for its mosaic collection, lunch, a visit to the traditional markets and the touristic city of Sidi Bou Said and also the ruins of Carthage.

The approximate cost is about 100 Euros per person including transportation. The exact cost will be provided shortly.
